If Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in search results, first check the country or region for your Media & Purchases account. Then open the App Store product page from the authenticity check page and distinguish regional unavailability from a connection error or a purchase restriction. This guide is for iPhone and iPad users who haven’t purchased the app yet, and covers account and purchase-history checks for existing owners. By the end, you’ll know whether to address your store account, network access, or payment settings.
1. Distinguish missing search results from an unavailable product page
App Store search isn’t the only way to determine whether an app is available to buy. Search terms, store region, device compatibility, and account restrictions can all affect results. Start by searching the full name, Shadowrocket; don’t search only by a Chinese nickname or mistake a similarly named tool for the same app. Then open the product page through this site’s authenticity check page and note the message shown by the App Store.
Shadowrocket is available exclusively on Apple platforms, and the App Store is the only place to get it. This guide focuses on iPhone and iPad; compatibility and system requirements for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision are as listed on the App Store page. Being able to view the product description in a browser doesn’t mean your current store account can complete a purchase. Follow the App Store message on your device.
| What you see | Check first | What you can’t conclude |
|---|---|---|
| No search results, but the product page opens | Full app name, account’s store, device compatibility | This doesn’t mean the app is no longer available |
| Message says the app isn’t available in your country or region | Country/Region for Media & Purchases | Changing your network route won’t change your account region |
| Page keeps loading or won’t connect | Whether other product pages load and whether your network is working | A connection failure alone doesn’t prove a regional restriction |
| Price is visible, but payment fails | Payment method, billing details, account purchase restrictions | This doesn’t mean search or app identity is the problem |
2. Check the store linked to your Apple ID on your device
On newer systems, Apple ID may appear as Apple Account. The account that matters for purchases is the one used for Media & Purchases; don’t rely only on the account name at the top of Settings. It may differ from your iCloud account. Note the account details shown, and don’t sign out or change the region before checking.
-
Open your account
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → tap your name at the top to view your account. If you’re not signed in, first confirm which account you intend to use for App Store purchases.
-
Check the purchase account
Open Media & Purchases and check which account is in use. Being signed in to iCloud doesn’t mean the App Store is using the same account.
-
Open account details
Select View Account and authenticate as prompted. Labels may vary by system language, but this opens the same account details.
-
Check the region
Under Country/Region, read and record the current country or region. You don’t need to select Change Country or Region.
-
Check the App Store again
Return to the App Store and reopen the Shadowrocket product page from the authenticity check page. Note whether it shows a price, a purchased status, or a regional unavailability message.
Settings → General → Language & Region changes your device language and regional formats, not the store linked to your purchase account. Changing your device region to another country—or seeing /us/ in a browser address—doesn’t prove the Country/Region for Media & Purchases has changed. The region in a product page URL and your account’s store are separate concepts.
3. Verify the app’s identity before buying
Before considering the price or payment, confirm you’re on the right product page. Check three things: developer, app ID, and official icon. The developer should be Shadow Launch Technology Limited, the app ID should be id932747118, and the icon should match the official icon shown on this site’s authenticity check page. A matching app name or similar icon color isn’t a substitute for these checks.
Bottom line: verify the app’s identity before checking if you can buy it
If the developer, app ID, or official icon doesn’t match, stop before paying and return to the authenticity check page. Once all three match, follow the purchase status shown in your current store account.
You can check the app ID in the product page’s share link: it should end in id932747118. Find the developer information on the product page. Ad placement, search ranking, the length of the description, and the currency shown aren’t proof of app identity. Currency can offer a clue about the store environment, but it doesn’t replace checking the actual Country/Region.
Shadowrocket is a paid, closed-source app with a one-time purchase. Check the current App Store page for the price. Buying the app does not include a connection service. You’ll need to use service details you already have; this guide does not provide, sell, or recommend connection services or subscriptions. Check the App Store page for purchase availability and requirements.
4. Store region and network routing are different
Switching Wi-Fi or cellular networks, or changing Shadowrocket’s Global Routing, won’t directly change your Apple ID Country/Region. Your network path can affect whether the product page loads, while your account region affects the store catalog and purchase eligibility. If the page won’t connect, troubleshoot your network. If it says the app isn’t available in your region, check your account settings first.
The comparison below is for users who already have Shadowrocket installed and a working configuration. It isn’t a prerequisite for getting the app. Global Routing modes affect requests handled by Shadowrocket; a page loading in one mode doesn’t prove your account region has changed.
Config
RecommendedChoose a policy according to the rules in your active configuration. When checking an App Store issue, keep your known-working configuration unchanged so you can isolate what caused any change. Avoid changing your region, rules, and connection details at the same time.
Best for: Reproducing and recording the product page message with a stable configuration
Direct
Send requests affected by this mode directly. Use it briefly as a comparison to see whether the issue is related to your current proxy route. It doesn’t sign you out of your store account or change the account region.
Best for: Checking whether the current network allows direct access and isolating a routing issue
Proxy
Use a proxy policy for requests affected by this mode, rather than routing each request according to Config rules. Results depend on your existing connection and network conditions; this doesn’t guarantee the product page will load or that you’re eligible to buy.
Best for: Comparing briefly against the effect of Config rules when you already have a working connection
Bottom line: Test one variable at a time
Keep the same purchase account and compare the product page message before and after switching networks. If the same regional restriction appears each time, stop changing Global Routing and check your account region and store availability instead.
5. Handle previous purchases, payment issues, and region changes separately
If you’ve bought the app before but see a price again, first check whether the current Media & Purchases account is the one used for the original purchase, then check your App Store purchase history. Signing in to the same iCloud account on a new device doesn’t mean the App Store is using your original purchase account. Don’t pay again just to check your purchase history; first match the account to the transaction.
- Check your purchase history: Open App Store → tap your account picture in the top-right corner and look for Apps, Purchased, or a similar purchase-history option. Labels may vary by system version. If needed, check the transaction under Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History.
- Check your payment details: Review the payment method and billing information for the purchase account. If a price appears but payment fails, follow the specific message from the system rather than assuming the app isn’t available.
- Check device restrictions: Go to Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions and check whether app installation or purchases are restricted. Managed devices may have separate restrictions; check with the device administrator.
- Check compatibility: Review Compatibility on the product page. System requirements are as listed on the App Store page. Don’t assume your current device meets the requirements just because the app appears on another Apple device.
If you have a legitimate reason to change your account region, read the change requirements shown in your account first. Your account balance, active subscriptions, pending transactions, Family Sharing status, and payment details required in the new region may affect the change. Don’t treat a region change as a quick fix for search results, or keep trying to switch before you understand the requirements.
The aim of these checks is to confirm your account’s current store and actual app availability, not to promise that the app can be purchased in any particular region. Availability, pricing, system requirements, and purchase eligibility are as listed on the App Store page.
6. What to do after checking
Keep a record of four details: purchase account, Country/Region, device type, and product page message. Don’t share your full account address, payment details, or personal credentials. When contacting account support, an exact error message is more useful than simply saying you can’t find the app. Redact personal information from screenshots before sharing them.
- Product page allows purchase: Verify all three identity details, then buy and install the app through the App Store. Follow the getting-started guide to complete the initial setup.
- Unavailable in your region: Confirm that Country/Region matches the message and keep a record. Changing your device language or repeatedly switching networks won’t change the store catalog.
- No product pages will load: Restore normal access to the App Store first, then check whether Shadowrocket is available. This helps avoid mistaking a general connection problem for an issue with one app.
- Purchase status doesn’t match: Check the original purchase account and Purchase History before trying to restore the purchase. Search ranking doesn’t indicate that a purchase record is missing.
Once installation is complete, troubleshoot the App Store separately from connection settings. If you already have a subscription, tap “+” in the top-right corner of Home to open the add screen, select Subscribe for Type, enter your own valid URL, save it, and then update the subscription. Importing a subscription doesn’t change your App Store region or replace the app purchase. Likewise, buying the app doesn’t automatically provide connection details.
